Amazon Office Building
LOC provided Mechanical, Electrical, and Security Engineering, Piping/Plumbing, Fire Alarm and Fire Protection Design for the complete interior renovation of the old 60,000 square-foot, 5-story North Charleston City Hall. The existing floor layout was completely reconfigured except for core spaces, mechanical and electrical rooms, shafts, etc. The HVAC system was replaced except for the chiller, cooling tower, and boilers. Kitchen, Bathroom, and Breakroom spaces were added including all mechanical and electrical systems. Electrical systems were replaced up to existing power and lighting panels. Fire protection/sprinklers were added to the building utilizing old standpipes as risers. Security system design for the facility encompassed access control for restricted areas of the building including layer/permission based access.
An extensive chilled water cooling / hot water heating system was distributed through each floor/area of the building utilizing multi-zone variable air volume boxes; separate redundant DX units were used to cool the large, heavily populated server rooms.
