Ronald P. Townsend Legislative Building
Anderson County’s departmental space needs were far exceeding their current building capacity, therefore, they acquired an existing building that once housed Piedmont Natural Gas. This project consisted of renovation of a vacant 25,650 sf, two story office building for the reuse by Anderson County as a Judicial Center. This facility houses the Clerk of Court, Court Judges’ chambers, Summary Court, Magistrate Offices, Voter Registration, Legislative Delegation and Veterans Affairs.
The renovation included extensive reconfiguration and complete replacement of interior finishes, the entire mechanical systems and electrical systems. A fire sprinkler system was added to meet code. It also included an addition of a stair tower. Revit 3D software was utilized to design the renovations.
